These are just a few examples of what the pages look like inside.  I have alternated these juicy pages with blank watercolor paper.

The pages lay flat when the journal is open.

There are 60 pages in each journal.  Just think about what you could use this for….more than enough pages to do a daily page each week in the new year!

Amidst the business of the holidays I wanted to pop in and remind you…

Today is your last day to save big on Truth Scrap 2016.  What is Truth Scrap you ask?  It is an online, live virtual art and crafting event focused on celebrating the intersection of faith and art.

Here is a quick flip-through of the journal I am teaching you to make from scratch…

This event will feature 6 individual classes.  Here is the description for mine:

Andrea Chebeleu – (Re)Create: Designing Your Own Upcycled Journal

Bible journaling is a wonderful craft, but those margins can be oh-so-itty-bitty! Never fear; you can easily create a custom art book that is perfect for a prayer journal, art journal, or Bible journal, and studio owner, designer, and instructor Andrea Chebeleu will show you how. Andrea has been creating her own custom books for years from a variety of materials, and now she’s sharing her tricks with you. In “(Re)Create: Designing Your Own Upcycled Journal” You’ll learn how to make a customized journal that’s totally “you,” whatever you intend to use it for – daily planner, to-do list holder, prayer journal, or catch-all. She’ll show you how to use everyday products to create the perfect place to capture everything from the everyday to the extraordinary. Upcycle an old book and use supplies you already own to make your own one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

Click here to register today.  Use the code CHRISTMAS to save an EXTRA $20.  This deal expires at midnight 12/24/2015 so don’t wait.

Debby Schuh is coming August 2

Debby Schuh and I have been working on finding a class that would fit A Work of Heart and I think you’ll like what we decided on.  If you don’t know Debby, here is a little bit about her.

HHeadshot

Debby is a memory collector – from the time she was a little girl, she has collected the bits and pieces of her life and stored them in scrapbooks and all kinds of creative projects. Debby’s years as a school teacher and as a teacher, designer, and author in the scrapbook industry have led to a busy career teaching classes at stores and events in the US and several other countries around the world. She travels regularly, teaching classes at stores and events, where her inspiring classes feature innovative techniques with paper and a wide assortment of mediums to preserve our stories and photos., She has inspired students all over the world to record their lives and take the techniques that she teaches and play in their memory-keeping and art projects. Debby lives in Buffalo, New York, with her husband and has two married sons who live too far away… she misses them all every day!

You can read more about Debby’s classes and adventures on her blog.

I’ve always wanted to make a memory book in an actual book, using both scrapbook techniques and art journal techniques… a cool place for a little bit of everything from special photos, page protectors, stamping, painting, pockets, sewing, and so much more – this class will offer a wide variety of mixed media techniques in my own “Debby-style” that can be used over and over again in your mixed media, scrapbook, and card-making projects.

It’s going to be a fun class to play and try new things!

Using one of the Puffin in Bloom children’s classic books, with cover illustrations by Anna Bond of Rifle Paper, and products from Crate Paper and other companies, you’ll learn and play and create a one-of-a-kind memory book. Your kit will be packed with product to use – you’ll even get your own stamp set to use in the book. I’m going to use my book for pictures of happy memories of adventures with my “sisters” – women that have impacted my life from childhood to today with friendship and love! Can you guess which title I’ll be using! You will have a choice of one of the four titles in the Puffin in Bloom series:
Little Women, Anne of Green Gables, Heidi, or A Little Princess.
The books are approximately 5” x 7”, and they are all about 1” thick, except Little Women, which is 2” thick.

Please specify which book you would like to work in when you sign up. (email andrea@aworkofheart.com with your selection)

The book is included with your class kit. You can see pictures of the books at Rifle Books.com in order to choose a title. When you sign up, please specify which title you would like to have.
